Introducing ANIX, A Linux ‘Remix’ For Small Business Owners And Admins

Long time readers know that I’m a big Linux and open source geek and that I try to promote open source as much as possible. You can imagine then how pleased I was when I came across ANIX, a project that creator Angel van Delden calls a ‘Ubuntu Linux remix for small business owners and admins.

ANIX is distributed FREE OF CHARGE and Includes great bookkeeping and invoicing softwares and a XAMPP Web Server combined with an excellent PHP Point of Sales system (PHP POS, already installed)… Install ANIX in one PC, and your POS System will be accessible from any other computer in your network!

ANIX has been created in Curacao and has three main purposes: promote the use of open source, promote Curacao all around the world and help small business owners. It runs on Ubuntu 10.10 and includes software like GNUCash, EekBoek, PHP Point of Sale, Thunderbird, Skype, Emesene, XAMPP and Wine.
