Getting ADSL in Curacao PDF Print E-mail

OneNet
If you are looking for a ADSL connection in Curacao, you will have to take the "OneNet DSL Internet" from UTS. All you need is a fixed land line and the line can be used for calling and the Internet at the same time.

There are three packages that are being offered by OneNet. There's the regular package where you only get the internet, there's the "Voice" package where you get calling minutes included and then there's the "Triple Play" package where you get internet, calling and a television package from TDS.

Right now we're only going to look at the basic Internet package, which offer you speeds of 1 Mbit and 2 Mbit. UTS will also give you the option here of taking the package with a 2 year contract or with no contract at all.

* All prices are in Antillian Guilders

There aren't any installation costs and no additional charges but keep in mind that you need to have a fixed land line in order to have a DSL connection. The need for a phone line is the one downside to DSL and if you don't have a fixed land line, UTS will charge you NAF. 175,- to set one up.

The big advantage for UTS though is that their 2Mbit package is the fastest speed available at the moment for residential broadband. Besides that, the speed is also pretty constant as it's a dedicated connection.

For those that don't want to be bound by a contract, you have the option of taking the service without the contract like I mentioned, but keep in mind that the prices are much higher in that case. If you want to fill in a request form and become a OneNet customer, you can click here.

* Edit : Curacao Cable Television also offers a 2MB Internet package now. You can read more about them here.

You would have to contact the internet service providers like UTS & Scarlet for that type of information.

Great site, compliments. Any idea what the cost would be if I want to get DSL at a new house with no phone line as yet. I have also heard about FLOW but I guess they are not done yet with all areas of curacao. I live in Sunset Heights.

A new phone line costs 175,- last I checked. If you have an alarm installation installed, there will be some extra costs if I'm not mistaken...
