TDS has been the main cable service provider on the island of Curacao for years now while also serving the island of Bonaire. For those wanting to know more about what they offer, their website has the following..

TDS is a wireless cable service provider servicing the island of Curaçao for over 15 years. Offering a fully digital service, it guarantees its subscribers a wide variety of channels, with improved image and sound quality, while maintaining exclusivity of service solely to its subscribers. Furthermore, the digital system will enable more interesting services in the future through the same cable system.

TDS differentiates itself by its availability of local programming, including a channel focused on original local productions, as well as pay-per-view channels in Papiamentu, this along with US pay-per-view channels.

The TDS channel line up is a well-balanced package consisting of a wide variety of programming categories, such as educational, information & news, sports, religion, home & leisure, US networks, kids and movies. Considering that TDS purpose is to have presence in every household, it offers its program packages at competitive prices, as well as financing possibilities.

A lot of locals on the island have the TDS service but a lot of people have been looking for alternatives due to dissatisfaction with the service. But TDS still has plenty of clients and a lot of people are still interested in the packages that they offer and the accompanying prices of these packages.

New Receivers

If you are a TDS customer, chances are that you have gotten a new receiver from them recently. The old box has been replaced with a new one to improve quality but as is the case with a lot of products, reviews have been mixed.

We have noticed an improvement in image quality when compared to the old receiver because we frequently had channels freeze up or blackout when using that one. But with the new receiver it has been better when looking solely at blackouts or channels locking up. Sound synchronization though still remains an issue with the new box and that is very annoying.

Others however see the new box as a big step back and have noted that the menus have less functionality now and it is something that should be noted if you are a big user of the menus.

    PLEASE tell me why I am paying for the basis package of TDS when Discovery (450) and Disney channel are AGAIN!!!!! in Spanish! The rest is in English, so please tell me why this must me in Spanish. I've writing you several times know, do I need to send in a public letter?????? Please RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Your basic package says nothing about Spanish, you do offer Spanish television but this one has more channels, so bring back the basic package to ENGLISH! I'm not the only one with this anger, I know some collegues of mine who even consider to quite TDS because of this. Make true what you promise and respond within 48 hours!

    I understand your frustration but I can't help you since I'm not affiliated with TDS. I just post the packages that they offer but I have nothing to do with them. If you have any complaints, you should take it up with them or switch providers.

    Hallo allen,

    Ik heb op veel kanalen een luide bromtoon (50Hz), sinds ik een Nederlandse TV heb (op 220V). Hoe lichter de kleur van het beeld hoe luider de bromtoon. Heeft iemand een idee hoe ik dat eruit kan filteren?
    Kan je de box op de TV aansluiten d.m.v. coax of moet je de RCA kabels gebruiken?

    Ik heb vrij weinig kennis van TDS want ik ben zelf een DirecTV klant, maar misschien weet iemand anders het wel.

    So Monday night I get a no signal reading on my t.v. and Icheck the back. The coaxial is disconnected straight out of the connector in the back. I call TDS. They say a tech will call before 11pm. Nothing. Next day I call from my office. The lady tells me that I have to call from home to make an appointment with the tech, but not to worry, they work up until 11. I call that afternoon "I'll get a tech to call you"...nothing. Eventually I said screw it and went to radio shack the following day and bought the tools I needed to fix it myself. I fix the cord, and I notice that the cable box has an "8" on it, and it's not turning off, on, channels, volume. So again I'm back to square one and calling in. Again "I'll get a tech to call you back" like I've never heard that before. An hour later nothing and I leave my house. The help desk finally calls and I say "I'm on the road and I'll be home in 10 mins!" "ok sir, call you back in 10 mins." That was an hour ago, and agian I'm sitting here...waiting.
