    I was readin up on your reviews of mobile broadband on this island. I'm going to be here for about 3-4 months and I wanted to purchase one of those MIO USB modems. Where can I purchase one and where is a MIO retailer in the otrabanda/punda area? Everytime I search the web no one shows a retailer. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

    I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean your 3g modem connects to your vista laptop but does not connect to your xp pc....or do you want to share the connection wirelessly between these two systems??

    Is there anyway you can use the 3G sim of uts to make phone calls on a iphone 2G ? I get internet acces on it but calls aren't allowed.

    The UTS 3G service does not offer "voice" transfer yet. They offer the data, but voice is not available yet as far as I know.

    well first off all i want to say good evening to every one well the 3G is not working in my area i think true i'm living in a area with radio stations , the 3G is not functioning, i want to know what to do cuz i really want to bring it back cuz i'm really stress out and getting outta controle now. I open the 3G on the first of december at the santa maria brache but no signal i have to go very far, but the fact is to use it at home, hope there is no problem, but i cannot keep it anymore and i really want to bring it back.

    David, i live in Sta. Rosa. Every night at about 10:30 p.m., my uts wireless 3g gets slow as hell and streaming video is damn near impossible. You ever heard of anyone else experiencing this?

    Yes. I know a number of people who are experiencing this.

    If you browse the site and read through the UTS/3G articles, you'll read about some of these other frustrated users...

    You are def. not the only one.... which is very very sad.

    Hi David. I was thinking the other day, some mobile phone providers allow the clients to use their handsets with data plans as modems for their laptops. Couldn't this be an alternative to the 3g issues that persons are having. Is that even allowed on the island. I think it's just a matter of set-up on the pc and then connecting the handset.

    I've always used a program called DrTCP. It lets you tweak those settings.

    I'd go with DrTCP and see if it gets the job done for you...
