Remove the Antivirus 2009 command from the Startup listFirst of all, it's a good idea to remove Antivirus 2009 from your Startup list. Go to "Start", click "Run" and in the dialog box you are going to type "msconfig". This will bring up the "System Configuration Utility" and then you are going to click the "Startup" tab. Look for any Antivirus 2009 commands (they wiill show as av2009) and uncheck it.

Stop the Antivirus 2009 Services from runningAfter you have done this, go back to the "Run" box and type in "Services.msc". This will bring up all the services that are running on your computer. Again, look for any Antivirus 2009 commands (av2009, av09 or anything similar) and right click on it and then click on stop.
Delete the FilesNow you can go ahead and delete the folders and files in the Program Files. Go to your Program Files folder and delete any folder that you see that is named AV2009 or Antivirus 2009. If you are not sure that you have deleted everything, you can do a file search across your entire hard disc and search for any files with "Av2009" in them, with "2009" in them, or with "antivirus 2009" in them. Delete any file or instance that you see that has to do with Antivirus 2009.
