The 2012 Efficiency Expo (EFEX) got underway tonight at the World Trade Center Curacao. Over the next 2 days, you can see the latest (and hopefully greatest) technology that companies on Curacao have to offer.
Digicel, UTS, Flow, TRES, Antraco, AFAS, NetPro, Boolchand’s, Omni, Infotrans, Antraco, Installation Technologies and many others will be showcasing their products and services at the WTC. There will also be an Angry Birds Space Competition, an Invention Contest and a B2B Day (Friday) that’s filled with seminars and presentations.
Jose Luis Fernandez, a special guest speaker from Cisco, kicked off the event by talking about the Post-PC Era. I’ll recap his presentation as best I can: Facebook is big, we post a lot of shit online, we’re addicted to our mobile devices and we need Cisco (and Infotrans) to help guide us through this crowded place we like to call the Interwebs. *
* Oh, there also appeared to be an elephant in a couple of his slides

We’ll be back in the weekend to cover EFEX more in depth, but I have to say that I liked the Samsung brochure that UTS was handing out. The folder was filled with cool Samsung gadgets that I suppose they will soon be offering, but it will be pretty useless if things don’t start changing very soon.
